Workplace Gender Equality Agency; Employer of Choice for Gender Equality
In 2023, for the fifth consecutive year, we have been recognised as a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality. Gender diversity and equality continue to be a core part of our people strategy, and we are furthering our work in the attraction, recruitment, development and acceleration of our women.
We’re proud to have achieved FlexReady Certification from FlexCareers. This is a comprehensive framework that captures the lived experience of flexibility at organisations. Being FlexReady Certified demonstrates a genuine commitment to workplace flexibility and the continued efforts we’ve made to evolve flexible work.
Equileap Top 100 Employers Globally for Gender Equality
In recognition of our workplace gender equality initiatives, we have been awarded the “Top 100” accolade by Equileap. Equileap is the leading organisation providing data and insights on gender equality in the corporate sector. Each year they produce a gender equality global report and ranking. We have ranked in the top 100 globally at 74th, based on a criteria of 19 gender equality measures, including but not limited to, gender mix, gender pay gap, flexible work, parental leave, and living wage.
AWEI Bronze Tier Status
For our work in LGBTQ+ inclusion, Metcash has received the Australia Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) bronze tier status. This recognition is the definitive best practice national benchmark for workplace inclusion of LGBTQ+. The criteria for this accolade includes having a robust DEI strategy, executive sponsorship, inclusive language, educational guides, and a dedicated committee called Met-Pride.
