Meet Metcash Brand Ambassador, Jenna Turner
Jenna Turner is our Warehouse Operations Manager at the Tasman Liquor distribution centre in Auckland, New Zealand. She has been in this role for a little over 18 months and is now entering her ninth year in the warehouse overall. A much-loved member of our team, Jenna is known for her incredible sense of humour and dedication to fostering a positive culture in the warehouse.
When Jenna first joined Tasman Liquor, she was one of the pioneering females in picking and packing orders on site. Over the years, she has witnessed the team’s growth in size and diversity and has played a key role in ensuring every new member feels welcomed and included.
“It all starts with the people, acknowledging that everyone is different,” says Jenna. “We work hard to make sure every person’s voice is heard. A junior picker can walk in and talk openly with senior leaders about anything, and that welcoming culture trickles down to all of us.” When we asked Jenna about the highlights of her day in the distribution centre, she mentioned that she measures success by the hellos and goodbyes she receives from team members. “It’s the small moments that mean the most to me. I can see by the way the team engages with each other that we’ve built a workplace where everyone feels respected.”
Taking the leap into leadership was a significant step for Jenna in her career, one that she worked diligently towards over her years with Metcash. “The reason I wanted to be a leader in this business is because of the example set by the great leaders I’ve had here over the years,” Jenna shared.
“The growth opportunities are endless,” she said when speaking about Tasman Liquor’s role in the larger Metcash family. “My career could go in any direction at this point; the doors are open to move to Australia or continue to evolve here in New Zealand.”
